Sorry we are so late getting this out. Some of you expressed concern but Shane is doing fine. He is feeling the pain considerably more today but has managed to make one round around the floor this morning. We are both very tired as the lack of sleep is setting in, so please continue to pray for strength and rest for us both. The highlight of his day is seeing the girls at night. He seems to save all of his energy for those 15 minutes with them.

The doctors have still not lifted the "no visitor" policy. I know many of you want to just see him for a minute and as soon as the orders are lifted we will let you know. On a positive note, Shane is the start student of the breathing treatments on his floor. You know him; always an overacheiver! Prayer for today is healing; clotting as they taper off the factor; resistence to infection; rest and strength.

Shane!
So glad to hear the good news... unfortunately, good food, rest, and privacy are 3 things you need to recover, and 3 things you don't get in the hospital! But I know you're getting 1 thing you need, and that's PRAYER. Lots of it!
We love you!

Shane,
We are praying as your blog requests and have complete faith in the power of God for your healing. I don't know of anyone who is getting more prayers than you. You are such an inspiration to so many of us. Thank you Pokey for your updates.

Glad to see that you are doing well. I saw Emma Leigh at lunch today along with Nanny & Patty. She said you were good. I sent a happy for Pokey and I will send you something Sugar Free when you get home. I get great desserts for Hartford that are Sugar Free. I will send you a list for you to make your choice. Keep on breathing and walking that will help you get better faster. Lots of love and prayers.

As long as you are getting better, the visits can wait. Just want to know you are getting the care, rest and healing that you needed. Jon is looking over my shoulder and says to make sure you know that you are in his prayers. I will be so glad when this is all behind you.

Shane,

I no big deal if I see you in the hospital or not, as long as you know I love you! To say that you're an inspiration is such an understatement! You ARE inspiration BECAUSE of your love and faith in our Lord! I’ve seen this faith in you when you're in the pulpit, at home or struggling for breath in the hospital.

Most notably, the saying that, “Behind every successful man, there's great woman,” has never been more true relevant.

Pokey, your testimony through your commitment to Shane's recovery, your tireless devotion to him, and your faith is so inspirational, visible and pure.

Thank you both for reminding me of how precious, delicate and important our walk with Christ is on this earth.

Finally, when you both tire and suffer from frustration and exhaustion, remind yourselves that this surgery is about so much more than doctors, factor, blood levels and breathing treatments – it’s about how Christ, and the miracles he performs, can be realized when we turn our lives and circumstances over to Him!

God bless you both!

Luv ya!

Shane,
I'm glad to hear you are up and about, although, its not too pleasant for you. Just keep walking and breathing at this point in time. Small steps go a long way.
You and Pokey are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. We love you both!
My mom, Bettye, also sends her love. She is a devoted watcher of UMH. You really mean a lot to her.
